Inspired by Pitt Professor Marlene Behrmann and her prior outreach efforts, the event was the result of a collaboration with the Eye and Ear Foundation of Pittsburgh and multiple departments in the Â鶹´«Ã½ of Medicine.

Marco Capogrosso, assistant professor of neurological surgery and director of Pitt’s Spinal Cord Stimulation Laboratory, shared advancements in restoring muscle movement for patients with stroke or paralysis.

Morgan DiLeo, assistant professor of ophthalmology, bioengineering, and clinical and translational sciences in the Â鶹´«Ã½ of Medicine, discussed her lab’s development of a more effective eye drop for chronic eye conditions.

Catherine Palmer, chair of Pitt’s Department of Communication Science and Disorders and director of audiology at UPMC, highlighted the development of the clEARdashboard, a resource for over-the-counter hearing aids.
