Members of the Â鶹´«Ã½ at Greensburg’s chapter of the Student Pennsylvania State Education Association (SPSEA) attended the organization’s 2024 conference and were awarded with honors.
The campus chapter received its fifth consecutive APEX award, which is the digital portfolio competition that showcases chapter activities related to the four pillars of Pennsylvania State Education Association.
Erika Christeleit, a junior and president of Pitt-Greensburg’s chapter, was elected to the position of secretary at the state level for the 2024-25 term and was the recipient of the Lucy Vallero Scholarship. Junior Kayla Loebach, outgoing regional SPSEA president and the Pitt-Greensburg chapter treasurer, was awarded the Exceptional Underclassman award. Senior Amber Bloom, the Pitt-Greensburg chapter president and outgoing state-level vice president, received the Servant Leader award.
In addition to participating in the state conference, Pitt-Greensburg students arrived early to help prep for the school beautification project and Outreach to Teach event. Melissa Marks, professor of education and director of Pitt-Greensburg’s education program, serves as a co-advisor to the campus chapter of SPSEA.
