Theresa (Tess) Kwon, a PhD candidate in marketing at the Joseph M. Katz Graduate �鶹��ý of Business, is one of two joint winners worldwide in a competition.

Kwon was announced during the society’s conference March 3-5, 2022, as a winner of its 2022 Dissertation Proposal Competition for her submission, “Solo and Joint Aspects of Consumer Behavior.” The recognition is considered the highest honor that a doctoral student can receive from the premier society for consumer psychology researchers.

Kwon’s dissertation consists of three essays examining factors that shape people’s decisions about whether to engage in consumption activities by oneself or with others (e.g., whether to buy products together with others or by oneself, whether to dispose of products with others’ input or by oneself, whether to go on trips and other excursions with others or by oneself).

Her dissertation is chaired by , the Ben L. Fryrear Chair in Marketing and associate professor of Business Administration at the Joseph M. Katz Graduate �鶹��ý of Business.
