Sidewalk and road closures planned on Allequippa Street through early April

Bright orange detour and road closure signs in the street

Starting today, there will be intermittent sidewalk and road closures in front of Sutherland Hall on Allequippa Street.

Work underway is part of the larger plan, as the upper campus area undergoes a major transformation to complete needed utilities infrastructure improvements. That includes a new chilled water plant, expanded amenities, new pedestrian walkways and outdoor spaces, implementing a sustainable stormwater management system, and more.

Vehicular traffic is expected to be restricted to a single lane through March 4, transition to a full street closure through late-March, and return to a single lane restriction through early-April.

Members of the Falk community will be rerouted to University Drive for drop offs and pick ups when access to Allequippa Street is restricted. Pedestrian traffic on Allequippa Street will also be redirected throughout this period.

Flaggers and traffic controls will be in place, as well as signage, to assist in safely navigating temporary sidewalk and road closures.
