This fall, Pitt’s Office of Engagement and Community Affairs will host Be A Good Neighbor block parties around the Oakland neighborhood surrounding the University’s Pittsburgh campus.
The food and music filled celebrations create a safe, relaxing environment where students, neighborhood residents, community partners and Pitt resources can come together and learn from one another. Organizations like Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Phipps Conservatory, Kidsburgh and Playful Pittsburgh will attend.
All Pitt or Oakland community members are welcome to drop into any party. Each lasts from 5 to 7 p.m. — no registration is required. Here is the 2024 schedule:
- North Oakland, Aug. 27:ÌýGallagher Lawn at 234 N. Dithridge St.
- South Oakland, Sept. 3:ÌýDan Marino Field at 3716 Frazier St.
- West Oakland, Sept. 10:ÌýThe Corner, Terrace Street between Robinson and Burrows Streets
- Oakland Square, Sept. 17:ÌýOakland Square Greenspace, Dawson Street
- Oakcliffe, Sept. 24:ÌýOakcliffe Playground, Craft Avenue and Niagara Street
