Pitt鈥檚 annual听Be a Good Neighbor Day, a day of service inspired by Pittsburgh icon Fred Rogers and his show 鈥淢ister Rogers鈥 Neighborhood,鈥 is April 1.

PittServes and the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs will send volunteers to serve across 26 community projects in neighborhoods Pitt has commitments to around the city, including Oakland, Homewood and the Hill District, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It鈥檚 also the first signature day of service for Pitt鈥檚 Oakland Community Ambassador program, which has students pick up litter and check for safety concerns around the Pittsburgh neighborhood. The ambassadors will clean out a community land trust home owned by the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation.

Buses at the William Pitt Union and the Schenley Quadrangle will transport volunteers to and from the project locations. Lunch will also be provided.
