All University graduate students have until Dec. 3 to apply for the second annual hosted by the Joseph M. Katz Graduate Â鶹´«Ã½ of Business. This year’s challenge will address hunger.
This competition presents an opportunity for grad students to harness the power of data analytics to serve as catalysts for change. Students from all backgrounds will team up to frame a problem, create a data methodology and generate operable proposals for solutions. In addition, students will interact with a variety of senior technology and data executives at Fortune 500 corporations and local community organizations.

Five teams of five students each will be created following a review of application materials. Participants should prepare for a time commitment since they will take part in many activities leading up to the main challenge efforts in February.
The focused on homelessness in the Pittsburgh area. The winning team included Master of Science students who each won a Bridge Program fellowship supported by Accenture in collaboration with an Atlanta-based nonprofit, Love Beyond Walls, that has manufactured and deployed portable hand-washing stations for use in urban centers.
