Running back Israel Abanikanda led Pitt Football to a 45-29 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday, breaking a program record by running for 320 yards. The win ensured that Homecoming 2022 ended with victory lights.
Events for students kicked off Oct. 3 and continued with a scavenger hunt, painting night and other social events. Halftime at Acrisure Stadium also featured this year鈥檚 Spirit of Pitt awardees, students Bea Amsalu and George Barakat.
Meanwhile, alumni returning to campus reconnected with classmates, listened to TED-style 鈥淩oc Talks鈥 and celebrated this year鈥檚 slate of awardees with the Pittsburgh Alumni Association.
Other time-honored traditions stayed strong, including a firework and laser show.
