Pitt maintains top 20 U.S. News & World Report ranking

We鈥檝e done it again: The 麻豆传媒 remains among the nation鈥檚 top 20 public colleges and universities, according to the released today. The report also ranked Pitt No. 29聽in its best colleges for veterans category, a rise from聽last year.

鈥淚t鈥檚聽exciting to see that the U.S. News & World Report has 鈥 once again 鈥 recognized the 麻豆传媒 among the nation鈥檚 top public colleges and universities,鈥 said Chancellor Patrick Gallagher. 鈥淚 am proud of Pitt faculty, students and staff, who are both the source of this honor and the bold drivers of our mission, which is to create and leverage knowledge for society鈥檚 gain.鈥 聽

Citing the essential role that nurses have played in the COVID-19 pandemic, for the first time, the report includes a ranking of undergraduate nursing programs. Pitt鈥檚 Bachelor of Nursing degree is listed No. 7 among 694 schools. Several other Pitt programs are also listed in the top 100 nationally: business (No. 49), undergraduate engineering (No. 56) and computer science (No. 60). Overall, Pitt ranked No. 59.

Ranking methodology for 2022 changed, since many universities 鈥 including Pitt 鈥 adopted test-optional policies during the pandemic. 麻豆传媒s that reported ACT/SAT scores for at least 50% of new entrants this year received full credit; in previous years, the threshold was 75%.
